Confirmation of Orders
Orders placed online constitute your offer to purchase subject to these terms. On receipt of your order we will send you an email describing the products and services you have ordered. These communications confirm we have received your order, but do not represent any acceptance of your offer to purchase products or services from us. We are not legally obliged to provide the products and services to you during the offer process.
If for any reason you would like to cancel an order, this may be done by contacting Pinetown Desai’s (PTY) LTD’s on 031 630 0222. You will only be able to cancel orders up to midnight on the day prior to the date of delivery. Pinetown Desai’s (PTY) LTD reserves the right not to refund the delivery in respect of any late cancellations. If you cancel your payment for any reason, or if your payment method should cease to be valid for whatever reason, you will nevertheless be bound to pay to the full purchase price, including all costs incurred by us relating to the recovery thereof. Without prejudice to any other rights or remedies in law, Pinetown Desai’s (PTY) LTD reserves the right to cancel forthwith any sale and/or your registration in the event of your breach any of the terms.
You may return a Product, at your cost, to any Pinetown Desai’s (PTY) LTD store provided you have the original invoice/proof of purchase and have complied with the required terms and conditions of Pinetown Desai’s (PTY) LTD’s Returns Policy.
You can track the status of your order by logging into your account and by clicking on "My Orders" . Once you have selected the order that you wish to track you will be able to see if your order has been received by Pinetown Desai’s (PTY) LTD, if it has been delivered to you and if it has arrived at the store of your choice for you to collect.
Collection of Information
We collect personally identifiable information, like names, postal addresses, email addresses, etc., when voluntarily submitted by our visitors. The information you provide is used to fulfil your specific request. This information is only used to fulfil your specific request, unless you give us permission to use it in another manner, for example to add you to one of our mailing lists.

Desai’s Hardware strives to provide the best possible service to its customers and has put the appropriate measures in place to ensure all its staff and suppliers are fully aware of and comply with the Consumer Protection Act. We are committed to operate our business in terms of the requirements of the Consumer Protection Act and our returns policy is aligned therewith. Goods will be refunded or exchanged within 7(seven) working days, in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, if the goods were defective, unfit for purpose or failed due to a design or manufacturing flaw.
Customers are required to present their original tax invoice or till slip. NO PROOF OF PURCHASE, NO RETURN.
Please note that it may not be possible to determine in-store whether goods have been damaged or what the cause of a failure or defect may be. Accordingly, Desai’s Hardware reserves the right to refer returned goods for technical assessment by the manufacturer or authorized service centre prior to repairing, replacing or refunding an item and to provide the customer with feedback within 10 business days of receipt of the returned goods and to act accordingly.
If the goods show a defect after the initial 6 (six) month period, but are within the manufacturer’s warranty period, Desai’s Hardware may, at the customer’s request send the goods to the manufacturer for repair and the manufacturer will decide whether you will have a valid claim and if so, whether they will repair or replace as well or whether any charges will be levied in accordance with the terms of the warranty.
The manufacturer’s warranty will only apply to material defects in the process of manufacturing the goods and will not apply in the following instances:
Once we have accepted a return and approved a refund, the customer will receive the refund in the same manner as payment was made i.e. cash, card or EFT.

A customer has a general right to return goods (a ‘cooling off period’) within 7(seven) business days after delivery, without penalty, should the product be unsatisfactory or incorrect.

If customers ask to delay the delivery or there have been delays in collecting the goods and during that time there has been a price increase on the goods purchased, then the customer will be liable to pay any difference in price. If for any reason you would like to cancel an order, this may be done by contacting the branch where the purchase was made.
We reserve the right not to refund the delivery fee in respect of any late cancellations. If you cancel your payment for any reason or if your payment method should cease to be valid for whatever reason, you will nevertheless be bound to pay to the full purchase price, including all costs incurred by us relating to the recovery thereof.
No returns on electrical products. Manufacturer’s warranty or guarantee will apply.
Returns will be calculated on quantity returned. Example - if 3-ton sand is taken and 2.8-ton sand in returned, the refund will apply to 2.8-ton sand.
You may return a product, at your cost, to the branch where the purchase was made, provided you have the original invoice/proof of purchase and have complied with the required terms and conditions set out by Desai’s Hardware.
A delivery fee will be charged for each delivery order placed by you. Pinetown Desai’s (PTY) LTD delivers from Monday to Friday, 08h00 till 17h00 and does not deliver on a Saturday, Sunday and any South African public holiday. Items are delivered in 2 (two) to 5 (five) working days if there are no unexpected delays. Should it be unavoidable for us to exceed these delivery times, you will be notified either telephonically or electronically.
Pinetown Desai’s (PTY) LTD delivers to registered customers within certain specified delivery areas. Deliveries to outlying areas shall attract an additional surcharge that will be calculated on checkout. An outlying area refers to a suburb or town that falls out of any regional town/city or main centre. Outlying areas include farms, mines and townships.
On delivery of the order to the specified delivery address, you will receive Pinetown Desai’s (PTY) LTD’s delivery note showing the items delivered. For verification purposes, the person accepting delivery at the delivery address will be required to produce a form of identification. Any person other than yourself who receives the Products at the delivery address is presumed to be authorised to accept delivery on your behalf. Should no-one be available at the delivery address specified by you at the time of delivery, the driver will return the Products and leave a notice at the delivery address to that effect. The courier company will attempt to contact you to make new arrangements for delivery. Pinetown Desai’s (PTY) LTD reserves the right to charge an additional delivery fee should it be required under these circumstances. Our sole liability for failing to deliver the Products timeously is limited to delivery being effected at a later agreed time at no additional charge.
Please arrange that you or your authorised representative, who is a responsible person, is available to accept your purchases at the delivery address and that appropriate access will be made available. On delivery, Pinetown Desai’s (PTY) LTD will require you or your authorised representative to sign and print your or their name on a duplicate copy of the delivery note, to confirm receipt. Pinetown Desai’s (PTY) LTD have outsourced all deliveries and accordingly, cannot, to the extent permitted by law, be liable for any damage suffered or loss incurred by reason of any acts or omissions of the courier.
Pinetown Desai’s (PTY) LTD will indicate its acceptance of your order by delivering the products to you or allowing you to collect them, and only at that point will a contract between you and Pinetown Desai’s (PTY) LTD be completed. This is regardless of any communication from Pinetown Desai’s (PTY) LTD stating that your order or payment has been confirmed. Pinetown Desai’s (PTY) LTD will indicate its rejection of your order by cancelling it and, as soon as possible thereafter, refunding you for any amount already paid. Any products or services on the same order which have not been dispatched/delivered to you will not form part of that the contract between you and Pinetown Desai’s (PTY) LTD. Delivery dates are estimates only, and as we process your order we will inform you if any products or services on your order turn out to be unavailable or delayed for any reason.

Store Pick-up/ Collection
You may place an order online and then collect it from your selected store. If your chosen store has the items in stock you can collect the order in 2 (two) to 5 (five) working days. To collect instore, place your order online as normal and select the "store collection" option instead of entering your delivery details.
Products may only be picked up from your chosen store upon presentation of a valid proof of identity and the collection notice, which can be printed once your payment is complete. Please ensure that the person you have named to pick-up the order presents one of the following forms of identification:
